Course Cost

The cost of this course is $950 per participant.

Montessori schools enrolling two or more staff members in the course will receive a 10% discount off each tuition!

 
 

Primary Orientation Courses explore Montessori key principles, offering parents, caregivers, classroom assistants, and school administrators an in-depth understanding of the nature and development of children ages 2.5 - 6+. Orientation Courses lay a strong groundwork for further study, such as an Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) Diploma Course. Individuals that successfully complete the Primary (3-6) Orientation Course and are accepted into the Primary Diploma Program, will receive a $500 credit toward their enrollment fee.

There is no prerequisite required to take an AMI Orientation Course.

Successful completion of all course components will result in an AMI Primary Orientation Course Certificate.

 
 

Course Schedule

All class components will be virtual

The online modules take place during the evenings from February 08 – March 04, 2027. Course time will be from 6PM-9PM CST.

Week 1: February 8, 9, 11

Week 2: February 16, 17, 18

Week 3: February 22, 23, 25

Week 4: March 01, 02, 04

 

 

Requirements to Receive a Certificate of Completion

Individuals interested in receiving an AMI 3 - 6 Orientation Course Certificate must meet the following requirements:

  • 36 Hours Online, Synchronous work

  • 24 Hours Asynchronous Work

  • 9 Hours of Observation

  • Observation Journals

  • 3 (500 Word) Written Essays

  • 90% Attendance

  • Discussions

  • Required readings

**Individuals may enroll in the course and select a non-Certificate option. Non-Certificate attendees do not need to meet the above requirements.

 
 
 

 

Meet Your Trainer

Lakshmi Shekhar is AMI certified at the assistants to infancy, primary and elementary environments and has more than 18 years of classroom experience in private and charter schools. Lakshmi is the founding guide of the Children's House at the Montessori Lab School at Grand Center. She holds a master's degree in English Literature.
